{Mon, Dec 758, '09}   TerraCycle

Nina at and are giving away a set of TerraCycle Eco-Nation speakers. Participating in the contest is easy and you have several chances to win through blog posts, Twitter and Facebook. The grand prize will be shipped fast so that the winner can enjoy their new TerraCycle Eco-Nation speakers during the holidays. For more information and official contest rules, see the blog entry: “The TerraCycle Eco-Nation Speakers Contest!”

TerraCycle is an awesome orginization (did I post this already?) that recycles the “unrecycleable.” Commonly thrown-away items such as juice pouches, plastic bottles, and gluesticks and makes them into common products, such as flowerpots, backpacks, and pencils.

That’s all I have on the subject…

{Mon, Oct 1943, '09}   #BeatCancer

For the past week or so, #beatcancer has been a trending topic on twitter. Apparently, “eBay/Paypal and MillerCoors are donating a cent per hashtag (via tweet, Facebook update, or blog post). The campaign is aiming for a Guinness World Record “for the distribution of the largest mass message through social media” in one day.” I’d just like to mention that I love these kinds of things (sort of), so I am here to post #beatcancer on this obvious BLOG POST. So, please spread this message on and help fight cancer. (Tell ’em Mercy sent you! :D) That’s about it.

{Tue, Mar 1734, '09}   St. Baldricks

There is an organization named St. Baldricks, and what it does is raise money for children with cancer. They hold events near St. Patrick’s Day, and shave the heads of voulenteers who want to show their support. My school raised over twice as much as we expected (still counting, baby), and the best part is that it is all going to help kids.

Last night was the shaving ceremony. All the voulenteers left bald. There were guest speakers, comedy acts, clowns, bagpipes, everything! It was amazing, and I know it really helped.
